Doug has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily as a Learning & Development professional who specializes in leadership development.  In his most recent role as Director of Global Leadership Learning and Development, Doug oversaw the leadership and team development of the company’s 10,000 managers in over 100 countries.  In addition, Doug has held various positions within Merck in both the Manufacturing as well as the Sales and Marketing Divisions.

In addition to his Merck experience, Doug was the Vice President, East Coast Operations for a consulting group based in San Diego, California.  His responsibilities in that position involved business development, curriculum design, program delivery, and consultant management.  Prior to his industry experience, Doug graduated from the United States Naval Academy and was an officer in the United States Marine Corps.  He also holds an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Personally, Doug is the author of two books on the American Revolution, “A Glimpse of Freedom” and “Absolved From Allegiance”, and is an Adjunct Instructor of American History at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  He has been married to Wendy for over 35 years, and they have three children ranging in age from 22 to 31 years old.

Saad is the Vice President of North America at Wahed Invest, where he is responsible for client acquisition, retention, service growth, and educating clients about financial literacy. He has over a decade of experience in the financial services sector, spanning from working in the UK, Switzerland, Spain, New York, and Chicago.

Saad started his career as an Accountant and soon found his passion for capital markets. During his career, he has worked in private equity where Saad was responsible for raising Series A funding from accredited investors for startups in the Biotech sector. Saad moved to the US in 2007 and soon found himself working as a trader for a Wall St brokerage firm.

He received his Undergraduate in Accounting from London School of Management. During his spare time, Saad entertains family and friends by making savory crepes and sweet pancakes from recipes he learnt while working as a pancake chef during his university days. You will find him hosting financial literacy webinars all across the country in-person and virtually.

An accomplished financial industry marketing and human resource professional with demonstrated expertise in diversity and inclusion, Azurée S. Montoute-Lewis has dedicated her life to creating supportive work environments with equal opportunities for all. She currently serves as H+K’s Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion where she draws on almost two decades of experience with diversity program development, recruitment, employee engagement, talent management, advocacy, and management training.

Widely regarded as a diversity & inclusion subject matter expert, Azurée often presents at conferences and events on inclusion-related topics. As Global Director of Talent, Diversity, and Inclusion for Fitch Group, she designed and implemented the organization’s first diversity and inclusion strategy which included the ForwardPath Women’s Leadership Development Program and the “All of Us” global inclusion training module. Azurée spent nine years as a Vice President in Citigroup’s Global Diversity and Talent Management department where she led teams responsible for succession planning, talent reviews, executive assessments, coaching/development, employee networking, and flexible work initiatives. Azurée’s resume also includes positions within the marketing departments of Dun & Bradstreet and J.P. Morgan Chase.

Azurée earned her BA in Political Science, Sociology and Physics from the University of Richmond as a part of the Cigna Honors Program. She holds an MBA in Marketing, Management and Leadership from the Stern School of Business at NYU and will soon complete her master’s degree in Organizational Development and Talent Management at NYU.

Azurée actively participates in multiple professional organizations which align with her passion for community service and efforts to empower underserved communities. She is a member of the New York Chapters of National Black MBA Association, Society of Human Resource Management, National Association of African Americans in Human Resources and Organization Development Network.  She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, now incorporated for over twenty years, and her graduate chapter of Delta Rho Omega.

Jamiel Altaheri is an American police officer. He is one of the highest-ranking Muslim police officers in the New York City Police Department. He is the first Yemeni-American to attain the rank of police captain in the New York City Police Department. Mr. Altaheri has been featured as one of the most influential American immigrants in Sara Novic's book, America is Immigrants (2009). Altaheri served as the Executive Officer of the 20th precinct in the upper west side of Manhattan and the executive officer of East Harlem's 23rd precinct in Manhattan. Captain Altaheri is the Co-founder of the NYPD Muslim Officers Society and founder of the Yemeni American Law Enforcement Officers Association (YAELOA).

He also served as the director of public relations for the NYPD Middle East & Turkic Society. Altaheri is also the founder of the Yemeni American Community Center located in the Morris Park Section of the Bronx (NYC). He led the efforts in uniting the Yemeni American Community in purchasing the center, which provides social, educational services, and family support services to hundreds of people in the Yemeni and Arab American community. Through his efforts and community involvement in the Yemeni American Community, he founded the Yemen United Soccer Club, which has over 400 members. He received a Masters of Arts degree in human resource management from Seton Hall University. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management and finance, and a Certificate of Achievement in accounting from Brooklyn College. He attained a Graduate Certificate in policing in a multicultural city from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He also received a Certificate of Achievement in criminal justice from the University of Virginia. Captain Jamiel S. Altaheri graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, on March 18, 2016, making him the first Muslim American police executive graduate.

Diana Winston is the Director of Mindfulness Education at UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) www.uclahealth.org/marc. She is the author of just released Glimpses of Being audio book, The Little Book of Being: Practices and Guidance for Uncovering your Natural Awareness, and Wide Awake for teens, and the co-author, with Susan Smalley, PhD, of Fully Present, the Science, Art and Practice of Mindfulness. Called by the LA Times “one of the nation’s best-known teachers of mindfulness,” she has taught mindfulness since 1999 in a variety of settings including hospitals, universities, corporations, non profits, and schools in the US and Asia. A sought-after speaker, she developed the evidence-based Mindful Awareness Practices (MAPS) curriculum and the Training in Mindfulness Facilitation, which trains mindfulness teachers worldwide. She is a founding board member of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association. Her work has been mentioned in the New York Times, O Magazine, Bloomberg, the Los Angeles Times, CNN.com, Women’s Health, and in a variety of magazines, books, and journals.. She has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 1989, including a year as a Buddhist nun in Burma. Currently Diana’s most challenging and rewarding practice involves trying to mindfully parent a pre-teen. Dr. Adriana Galván is a Professor of Psychology at UCLA whose expertise is in adolescent brain development. She received her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University and her PhD in Neuroscience from Cornell.  She is the Director of the Developmental Neuroscience Laboratory. The focus of her research is on characterizing the neural mechanisms underlying adolescent behavior with an eye towards informing policy (e.g. juvenile justice).  Her research is generously funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Russell Sage Foundation, Jacobs Foundation, and the William T. Grant Foundation.  

Using a multimodal approach that combines brain imaging, task-based behavior, physiological assays, and daily diary methods, her current research address the following questions: 1) How do neurodevelopmental changes in cortical and striatal systems subserve characteristic adolescent behaviors, including decision making, reward sensitivity and risk-taking, and learning? 2) What is the role of context in dynamic behavioral and neurobiological changes across adolescence?; and 3) How do neural changes differ between typically and atypically developing adolescents?

Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. received his medical degree from Harvard University and is currently clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine where he is on the faculty of the Center for Culture, Brain, and Development and the founding co-director of the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. Dr. Siegel is also the Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute, which offers a scientifically grounded, integrated view of human development to promote well-being. He is also the Medical Director of the LifeSpan Learning Institute and serves on the Advisory Boards of the Blue School and The Garrison Institute in New York. Dr. Siegel is a prolific author. His highly acclaimed text, The Developing Mind introduces the field of interpersonal neurobiology and is utilized by a number of clinical and research organizations worldwide. Dr. Siegel’s other titles include: The Mindful Brain, The Mindful Therapist, Pocket Guide to Interpersonal Neurobiology, Parenting from the Inside Out (with Mary Hartzell, M.Ed.) and The Whole-Brain Child (with Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D.). Dr. Siegel’s book Mindsight offers the general reader an in-depth exploration of the power of the mind to integrate the brain and promote well-being. Dr. Siegel's unique ability to make complicated scientific concepts accessible and exciting has led him to be invited to address diverse local, national and international groups. He has lectured for the King of Thailand, Pope John Paul II, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Google University, London's Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and TEDx.

Jessica Hoffmann, Ph.D., is a research scientist at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence where she currently serves as the Director of Adolescent Initiatives. Jessica received her B.A. in psychology and sociology from Brandeis University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Jessica specializes in working within school settings to develop approaches and programming (RULER and inspirED) aimed at enhancing children’s creativity, promoting positive school climates, and enhancing mental health. Her current research focuses on the efficacy of RULER and inspirED for secondary schools, including the impact of emotion skills instruction on school climate, creative problem solving, and emotion regulation ability. She is a co-editor of two forthcoming Cambridge Handbooks: Lifespan Development of Creativity and Creativity and Emotions.

Sumreen Ahmad is a Global management consultant with 20+ years’ experience in leadership development, human capital and organization design, journey and change management, strategic planning, process and continuous improvement. Sumreen currently serves as the Global Change Management Lead for Accenture, responsible for leading organization wide transformational efforts for the firms’ 537, 000+ employees. Sumreen is also passionate about driving and supporting inclusion and diversity in the workplace, currently leading North America Interfaith and Muslim Employee Resource Group and Michigan Womens Employee Resource Group. Finally, in addition to her professional responsibilities, Sumreen is committed to translating her professional skills back into community development, by serving the non-profit community for local, national and international organizations. Sumreen graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce with a major in International Business from the University of Alberta, Canada. Sumreen lives in Canton, MI with her husband and children.

Caroline Welch is CEO and Co-founder, with Dr. Dan Siegel, of the Mindsight Institute in Santa Monica, California. She offers lectures and workshops to enhance well-being in our personal and professional lives. Caroline began her mindfulness practice forty years ago while working in Japan.

Caroline’s first book, The Gift of Presence: A Mindfulness Guide for Women, is now available.

Born on a working dairy farm, Caroline’s first trip out of Darien, Wisconsin was to Shiraz, Iran on a high school exchange program. That was the beginning of her love of travel and exploration which has included climbing Mount Kenya, teaching English in Japan for three years, and backpacking through 25 different countries.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, with a master’s degree from the University of Southern California, Caroline started her legal career as a corporate litigator. She has served as a Los Angeles County court appointed mediator, and as in-house counsel at Spelling Entertainment Group and MGM Studios.

Caroline is an avid watercolorist. She and her husband, Dan, live in Santa Monica, and have two adult children.

Aneesa Muthana is the President, CEO and co-owner of Pioneer Service Inc. providing precision machined parts since 1990. She is a hands-on leader with extensive experience in almost every aspect of a production machining environment. Her success was only possible through building a high-performance team that embraces leading-edge technology. She believes in building relationships both inside and outside of her company, and in the strength of inclusivity in an industry where success can only be earned, and never given.

Dr. Vanessa Bohns who is an expert on leadership influence and persuasion and professor at Cornell University and a her book on influence is a best seller and highly regarded amongst psychologists and business professors etc. 

Professor Bohns received her PhD in Social Psychology from Columbia University and her AB in Psychology from Brown University. Prior to joining Cornell, she taught at the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo in Canada. She is author of the book You Have More Influence Than You Think (2021, Norton). Her research focuses broadly on social influence and the psychology of compliance and consent. In particular, she examines the extent to which people recognize the influence they have over others in various interpersonal interactions, including when asking for help, suggesting that someone engage in unethical behavior, and making romantic advances. Some of her additional research interests include prosocial behavior, perspective-taking, and self-conscious emotions. Her research has been published in top academic journals in psychology (Psychological Science, Current Directions in Psychological Science), social psychology (Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology), management (Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes), and law (Yale Law Journal) and has been covered by media outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The Economist, and NPR. Her popular press and business writing has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review. She is an associate editor at the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, was previously editor of the social influence section of Social and Personality Psychology Compass, and sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Social Cognition. Professor Bohns teaches Introduction to Organizational Behavior (ILROB 1220), Morality at Work (ILROB 4760), and Negotiations (ILROB 5790).

Dr. Edgar Schein is an esteemed organizational psychologist, academic, author, and consultant, renowned for his groundbreaking work in the fields of organizational culture, career development, and group dynamics. Born in 1928, he earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees from top institutions, including the University of Chicago, Stanford University, and Harvard University.

He spent most of his career as a professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he made significant contributions to the understanding of organizational behavior and development. Dr. Schein has authored numerous books, with his most popular work being "Humble Inquiry," which focuses on the importance of asking questions to foster better communication and relationships.

As a consultant, Dr. Schein has worked with various organizations to help them improve their performance, leadership, and culture. His expertise and contributions to the field have made him a highly respected figure in organizational psychology and management.

Schein investigated organizational culture, process consultation, research process, career dynamics, and organization learning and change. In Career Anchors, third edition (Wiley, 2006), he demonstrated how individuals can diagnose their own career needs and how managers can diagnose the future of jobs. His research on culture showed how national, organizational, and occupational cultures influence organizational performance (Organizational Culture and Leadership, fourth edition, 2010). In Process Consultation Revisited (1999) and Helping (2009), he analyzed how consultants work on problems in human systems and the dynamics of the helping process. Schein wrote two cultural case studies—“Strategic Pragmatism: The Culture of Singapore’s Economic Development Board” (MIT Press, 1996) and “DEC is Dead; Long Live DEC” (Berett-Kohler, 2003). His Corporate Culture Survival Guide, second edition (Jossey-Bass, 2009) told managers how to deal with culture issues in their organizations.

Dr. Linda A. Hill is the Wallace Brett Donham Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and chair of the Leadership Initiative. Hill is regarded as one of the top experts on leadership and innovation. Hill is the co-author of Collective Genius: The Art and Practice of Leading Innovation (Harvard Business Review Press 2014), co-founder of Paradox Strategies, and co-creator of the Innovation Quotient and re:Route. She was named by Thinkers50 as one of the top ten management thinkers in the world and received the Thinkers50 Innovation Award.

Dr. Hill’s research focuses on leadership development, building agile, innovative organizations, and implementing global strategies. Hill’s TED talk on how to manage for collective creativity has over 2.6 million views.
